Weekly Review 2.28.16

Hello lovelies! I've been so busy with school and real life that I haven't been able to just sit down and write posts. I hardly have enough time to do my homework on time -sigh-. However, I wanted to post a weekly review since I haven't in such a long time.

Tiredness, Sleep, and Conventions Pt. 2

Hello lovelies!

I know I've been MIA other than reviews lately, but I've just been so stinking busy that I can't even go on to check people's blog posts. It's honestly just been school, homework, sleep, repeat. I did have a mini vacation, but as soon as that was over it was back to doing homework before my week started up again. So I'm just going to give you a low down on what's been going on in my life so far.

Weekly Review 1.17.16

Hello lovelies! Every Sunday I try to have a post that wraps up my week both in my life and in my blog.

This week has been another lazy kind of week. I don't really have anything crazy going on until school starts up on Tuesday.

In the Life

Like I said, nothing super crazy. I've just been hanging out. Trying to clean my room. Catching up on blogs and books. I've been doing the Clean Slate Read-a-Thon and while that was fun, I didn't hit my mark of 5 books. Boo... But I did get through two books and I'm reading one now. I'll have a post about that tomorrow.

On Wednesday, I went shooting with my friends. It's actually the first time I shot a gun and wow that was fun, I have to admit. I'm not going to go political about it, because really, who finds that fun. This isn't supposed be about politics. This is about to be about books! But just from my own personal opinion, I would really rather have a shot gun than a hand gun. Pistols make me so nervous, I felt like it would fly out of my hand after every shot. Revolvers were a little bit better. I'm also having the itch of just trying to get crazy good at them. I have a thing for being a good shot. I want to be really, really good at it.

I also bought school supplies because who doesn't like shopping for school supplies okay? And when you have Daiso, everything is super cute. I have to.

In the Blog

Like I said, I joined the Clean Slate Read-a-Thon and you'll get a wrap up post about it. I read kind of the same amount that I would've read normally I think, which is a bummer. But it was fun and I read some great books out of it. So I'm not all that bummed out I guess.

The Blind Book Date Club is live and waiting for your eager sign ups! I've extended the sign up time to get more time for people to sign up and I've also extended the deadline for shipped packages. I also edited the post to say that ebooks are included. I know that physical books and then shipping them out might not be a very affordable thing for people at the moment, so I meant to mention this in my original post but I guess I didn't. If you have signed up, I ask that you spread the word so that we can have more people sign up!

Weekly Review #3:

Hello lovelies! This week wasn't as rampant as the last with the blog posts, but I've read through a lot of books so I'm excited about that. Reviews to come!

In the Life:

This week was a pretty normal week in my opinion. I stayed home and went back and forth between reading and blogging. I also had work, so I did that too. I have to prepare for a con that's coming up in two weeks so I'm in a bundle of mess trying to get that figured out. There's going to be a lot of people, a lot of costumes, and a lot of nerdiness. I can't wait to post about it.

I do have to prepare going back to school. So that means filling out paperwork for my scholarship funds to kick in and buying some new school supplies. Buying school supplies is oddly incredibly therapeutic for me. Mostly because I love getting cute notebooks and binders. I live for Asian stationery.

I'm still in the process of cleaning my room and it's slowly coming together. I'm also working out the final details of the Blind Book Dates so that I can get it running before Valentine's Day (you get it? hehe) I'm so excited that people are interested and I hope this takes off as well as I would like it to. There will be a post and a sign up. Keep your ears and twitter feeds out so that you know when it's starting.

In the Blog:

Like I said, Book Blind Dates is coming along and I'm probably going to launch it either this week or next week. Hopefully this week so there's a lot of time for people to sign up. So many exciting things!

I've started on the Clean Slate Read-a-Thon and I'm really hoping to get my goal! I'm excited to start on some books I've been meaning to start (or finish) last year but didn't get to because life.

Weekly Review #2

Hello lovelies! Welcome back to Weekly Review. This is a post I try to do every Sunday recapping what's been going on in my life and in the blog!

This week's been kind of okay. I wasn't super busy (I'm about to be though) and I wasn't super lazy either. I really kicked it into gear with this blog and I wrote up post after post, making sure I'd have something going up every day. I still haven't finished Heir of Fire, so I need to get on that if I'm going to make a review for Monday haha.

In Life:

Since it was the week after Christmas, there really wasn't anything big going on. I stayed home, did some chores, did a lot of blogging, etc. etc. I did go to work a couple of days, but now that Christmas is over the store is dead. Like a wasteland. Super dead. It was even worse on New Years.

On New Years I met with family. Since I'm Korean we have a tradition where we bow down to our elders, asking for their blessings in the oncoming year and they give us some CA-ASH. I always look forward to it, but as I'm getting older I'm starting to not qualify for the CA-ASH. Sad times are upon me.

Now that New Years is over, I'm going to be working double time for a con I'm about to attend later this month. There are still things that need to be worked out logistics wise and I actually need to think realistically about the cosplays I want to do.

In the blog:

I've posted a lot of posts this week as I've thrown myself to this blog full on. I can't wait until I start with my new ideas for this year. Hopefully it's the success I want it to be.

I just finished Heir of Fire and I'm taking a break from the Throne of Glass series for now.  Sounds a bit strange seeing that at the start of the post I said I was afraid of not finishing it. I took a break from writing this post and now as I'm finishing it, I've finished the novel haha. I've kind of binged on them. I'll be posting a list of books I aim to read this month. Once school starts, my reviews will have to whittle down to one a week. If I'm able to do more, there'll be more.

Here's a list of my posts in case you missed them!

How was your week everyone?

Weekly Review

Hello readers. I'm going to be changing Sunday Wrap Ups to Weekly Reviews. I think the name has a better ring to it, so I'm just going to be keeping it like that.

Anywho, I've gone through a lot this week which is a good start for the winter break before my Spring semester!

Starting Monday, I tried my best to change little things in the blog and updating things since I've been gone for so long. As you may have noticed, I changed my name back to "Words Off the Page". It's been a weird and experimental year for me since I'm just starting up a book blog again, but I'm glad for the people who've been here from the beginning lol. I decided to have full life posts in a personal blog that I will have a link to in the side bar. This will be what I call "Journal Entries" and they'll be little life tidbits hopefully daily, but Blogger kind of sucks on mobile so I'm not sure :P

On Tuesday I had a really long day. I went to a shoot for a short film that I'm helping out at my college and I was freezing most of the time. I don't know how the cast did it in those ridiculously thin costumes. My feet and my hands were so stiff I could hardly text. I've got some awesome pictures throughout the shoot.
