I know I posted about my resolutions, but I'll add and even change them (already I know...). I wrote out 10 things I wanted to accomplish in 2016 in both my personal life and in my blog. Today, I'll be posting about my blog.
1. Become more active in the community.
When I started this blog last year, I didn't really do a good job of being active in the community. I felt like that shy kid in class that just watches from the back. I was a total wall flower. This affected my blog because I didn't really post as efficiently and no one was even looking at my blog haha. However, this year I'm making a bigger effort to go full force and to try and connect with bloggers and authors. I would love to be part of this community!
2. Start Booktube.
I had this idea for a really long time. I want to start a booktube channel since I feel more comfortable working with video editing, but I also just love YouTube and I would like to be part of that community.
3. Blog regularly.
I know life is going to get really busy for me, but I'm determined to blog regularly. I've been doing pretty well for myself. I've been writing up my blog posts a day or even a few days before they're supposed to go up. Hopefully this continues until the end of the year and the years beyond!
4. Finish the challenges and read-a-thons that I joined.
Last year I didn't do this at all. I joined a couple of challenges and read-a-thons but I didn't do a thing. I got really busy and just didn't have time to pick up a book. This year, I'm planning to really tackle this head on. I don't like leaving things I started unfinished.
5. Follow more blogs.
I've already kind of accomplished this, but I know a great way to get into the community is to just read other people's blogs and to comment on them. I'm just going to make it an effort to follow more blogs so that I have more things to go back to throughout the day. The worst feeling is wanting to go and read a post and finding that there's nothing to read.
6. Host the Blind Book Date Club.
This has already gotten a bit of attention and interest and I'm really glad! It's an idea I've been thinking about and I may launch it quite soon. I'm excited. There's going to be more information, but I can't wait to get this thing started!
7. Get a bigger audience.
Like I said in the first resolution, I don't really have that much of an audience. I would really like to expand it this year. I want it to grow exponentially and I'm putting my best foot forward to do this. It's going to take some time and I'm probably still not doing a lot of the "right" things, but I'm determined to grow my audience to at least a 100 followers.
8. Do a blog tour.
I just think it'd be kind of a fun thing to do!
9. Blog about my life a lot more.
I know that I only really talk about my personal life only during the weekly updates, but I think I might start blogging a big more about my life. I think it's really important to have the audience feel like they know you rather than read a blog from a faceless person.
10. Make my blog look more "professional"
This may sound silly, but the blog is nowhere near what I want it to look like. I want to get a banner and some better coding on my website. However, I think I'm going to have to go to someone else to do that. Coding doesn't really make all that much sense to me and I don't think I have the time (or patience) to try and learn it. But I really want my blog to look a lot better and a lot more appealing.
That's it for me. What are your resolutions?
